Sociedad de Audubon is accepting proposals for support and funding of environmental projects with grants of $10,000 to $50,000 pesos. Priority will be given to projects that reflect the mission of Sociedad de Audubon and promote environmental sustainability in the region through projects that are innovative, educational and of benefit to the quality of life in the San Miguel de Allende environs. |

About Audubon
- The Sociedad de Audubon Mexico is the only Audubon in Mexico
- In 2012 we are entering into our 45th year of continuous work in the area of San Miguel de Allende.
- We are an NGO registered and in good standing with the Federal Government of Mexico and the State of Guanajuato.
- Our Vision – To become the most effective advocate for the protection and appreciation of birds and all other elements of nature in the San Miguel de Allende area and environs.
- Our Mission – To actively promote and encourage the appreciation and protection of birds, their habitat and all other elements of nature. We will do this by raising public awareness, working with Government and other organizations, increasing citizen stewardship and raising funds to support our programs and projects.

Goals of the Grant Program
We are committed to protecting the regional ecology of the broader San Miguel de Allende area by addressing environmental threats, promoting environmental sustainability, protecting wildlife and their habitat, conserving finite natural resources and promoting sustainable and environmentally smart development.
- We believe this can best be achieved through education, consciousness raising and programs that will lead to behavioral change and sustainable environmental practices resulting in a healthier regional ecology.
- We will support those programs that in our judgment best achieve these goals.

- All grants will be for a six-month period. We will consider continuing support through future grants based on achievement during the initial and subsequent six- month grant cycles.
