REPORT AUDUBON MONTHLY BIRDWALK
EL CHARCO DEL INGENIO
15 JANUARY 2012

Audubon leads a birdwalk on the third Sunday of every month—this month,  that’s the 18th.

In the past at this site we have seen and heard Green Kingfishers,  Blue and Black-headed Grosbeaks, Groove-billed Anis,  Crested Caracaras,  White-tailed Kites and a variety of swallows,  including Barn, Northern Rough-winged and the relatively rare Cliff Swallow.

The walk is open to beginning and experienced birders. Wear sturdy walking shoes and bring water and a hat. Carpooling is necessary,  so if you have a car,  please bring it. Plan to arrive at 7:45,  as we leave promptly at 8 to catch the early birds.

Binoculars and a bird book are helpful,  but not essential. We will have telescopes,  a few pairs of binoculars to lend,  and Audubon bird guides for purchase. You'll be back by about noon,  with new entries for your life list and new birding friends.
